Red Wings Reading Challenge
Welcome back, everyone! As you can see this post is not simply a game review but something that is way more important. As an organization, the Detroit Red Wings have always made it their mission to be more than just a hockey team to the Detroit community and the rest of Michigan.
Recently, the Wings sent one of their young and rising stars Marco Kasper to participate in a very important community challenge. This challenge is called the Red Wings for Reading Program. This program runs throughout the season and is a no-cost literacy program for kids K-5 here in Michigan where the top performing program at the end of the season will win a $2,500 library upgrade for their school.
On the 27th of January this past month, Kasper made a stop at New Paradigm Glazer Academy in Detroit Michigan. While he was there, Kasper spent time reading with the classroom as wel as shopping for books with them when the reading was over. For any interested teachers in the Detroit area you are able to register and learn about this fun and enriching program using this link https://bit.ly/Wings-for-Reading.
As Red Wings fans, I think we can all agree that things like this are what separates Detroit sports from everywhere else. Pictured below is Red Wings star Marco Kasper reading to the students at New Paradigm.
